Rise 2 Work provides job-driven, skills-based training that leads to meaningful employment for food stamps recipients. It is part of the voluntary NC Food and Nutrition Services Employment and Training Program (FNS E&T), intended to increase FNS recipients' skills, careers, and ultimately their families' financial well-being.

Free Training: GED®, HiSET® and adult high school instruction, CompTIA IT computer certification A+, air conditioning, heating and refrigeration, early childhood education, welding technology and more.
Other Services: Soft skills certification, occupational trainings, interview and resume prep, and career planning.

Free Training: Working Smart soft skills for workplace success. LifeWorks! provides practical training, employment assistance, help in defining personal values, and help to make thinking and behaviors better match those values. Seeking Safety program for managing trauma.
Other Services: Employment networking with employers who are willing to hire people with criminal records. Onsite banking and health clinic.
Community Culinary School of Charlotte

Orientation: By appointment, application required
Free Training: 14-week culinary arts program, including everything from soup stocks to sauces, knife skills, workshops on different cooking techniques, hands-on participatory classes and chefs doing demos.
Other Services: Life and literacy skills, substance abuse prevention services and career placement.

Free Training: Construction, forklift/OSHA 10, customer, administrative and business services, Microsoft Office specialist, fundamentals of IT, Salesforce Academy, Office 365 Cloud Computing, introduction to web design and development, A+ helpdesk support, and code immersion.

Free Training: Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, highway construction, fiber optics and broadband, Microsoft and customer service specialist, and medical coding.
