Department Leadership

Yulonda D. Griffin is the director of Department of Community Resources, one of four departments that comprise the Mecklenburg County Health and Human Services Agency. She is responsible for overseeing operations within the department, which includes Community Resource Centers, Child Support Services, the Unified Workforce Development Program, and the Consolidated Health and Human Services Mail Services Center.   

She joined the County in 1999 as an intake specialist for the Department of Social Services. Yulonda has served in many roles, including as a social services manager and assistant CRC director, before being promoted to director in 2020. Prior to joining the County, she served as a human resource placement specialist for the Cumberland County Department of Social Services. 

Yulonda holds a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Fayetteville State University, a Master of Science in human resource management from Troy State University and a MPA Public & Nonprofit Management Academy Certificate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
